My husband and I have been visiting the area for five years, we are property owners and have a reasonable knowledge of the language which we always use to the best of our ability. Two weeks ago, because it was very busy in Salobrena and we couldn't get in our usual restaurants for lunch, we decided to try a new one. We arrived at Agua Verdes and sat down, after a lengthy wait a camarero arrived, barely looked at us as he took our order,(spoken in Spanish) for the first time in all the years we have visited Spain we felt distinctly unwelcome. Others had been given bread and tapas but not us! We ordered a fairly expensive chicken in mushroom sauce dish (after our reasonable Gazpacho without bread)and was horrified when we looked at our plates, apart from swimming in oil there was some shrivelled tinned mushrooms and chicken bits on bones no sign of a 'sauce', Inedible. Not only was the camerero verging on ignorant but seemed to think as we were English we were in a rush. What a shame and never again.
